Havering Library Summer Reading Challenge 5th June

4 June 2020 (by Mr Wilson)

Dear Parents/Carers,

Havering Libraries are launching their annual Summer Reading Challenge. The challenge encourages reading at home ( which is even more important while many children are still at home) and is a fun way to engage all ages in reading great books. I have put the leaflet with all the information onto the distance learning section on the school website.

The challenge is slightly different this year as libraries are not currently open and children will be able to create a free account to take part in the digital Challenge, which is a simple process and only requires approval by an adult (via email).

Children taking part in the Challenge this year will be asked to set their own reading goal – anything from one book upwards! Children can read anything that makes them happy – comics, joke books, poetry, fiction or non-fiction; in digital or print format; from what they already have at home or from free e-books through the public library service

This time there will be online book reviews, activities and incentives. And once they have finished the challenge they will receive a downloadable certificate from the Reading Agency website.
