Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to La Salette Catholic Primary School. We are a small Catholic School located in Rainham, within the London Borough of Havering.
As a school we place our Catholic faith and the education of all of our children at the very centre of all we do. We are passionate about shaping our children into life-long learners who are keen to explore the world around them through our gospel values of joy, love and friendship.
Mr. A.S Wilson, Headteacher

The whole school enjoyed a very loud and exciting visit by the African Drumming Workshop. The children learnt about the importance that music plays in many cultures and practiced rhythm and recall songs. The feedback from every class was that the experience was fantastic!
Young Writers
Last summer Year 5 took part in a Young Writers Competition. The theme was mini monster tales and our school submitted a number of entries. Year 3 Stone Age Survival
As part of their History lessons, Year 3 had an exciting trip to find out if they could survive life in the Stone Age! The children learnt all about the need for early humans to find shelter and keep warm. Using, some modern materials and what they could find around Ingrebourne Hill’s grounds, the class all managed to survive and make it back to School!
Primary Mathematics Challenge
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in the national Primary Maths Challenge. The Challenge had 20 questions and increased in difficulty as the children worked through the paper. We had a significant number of children who achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards for high scores and Mr Geary presented them with their certificate and prize in Monday’s assembly.
Year 5 Diversity Day
Year 5 explored their class’s cultures and heritage as part of their PSHE lessons this month. Children brought in items, food and stories about their families and their histories. It was such a wonderful experience to hear our children talk with such obvious pride about their family origins and experiences.
Yr 6 Cookery – Come Dine with me!

Be Bright! Be Seen! Sustainable Travel Day
Our annual Be Bright! Be Seen! Event saw the whole school walking, cycling and scooting to school in their bright clothes. It was lovely to see the children embracing sustainable travel and learning about how to stay safe while travelling in the darker winter months.
